Subvert is an online platform for music distribution and streaming. The idea is to have an aritst- and community owned streaming platform similar to bandcamp. A fair and cruelty-free alternative to spotify.

I've been doing a deep dive in marxist and leninist literature over the last few months and this essay on proletarian feminism answered a lot of questions regarding feminist perspectives in marxist theory and practice

I created a performance score for when you witness moments of violence or abuse of power. Get it here and feel free to give me some feedback on it!

I am currently trying to spatialize my musical preferences using musical genre attributes as extremes in a graph, and then trying to find myself and what I want from my art in between all of these genre attributes.

Music, art, literature as a means of filling in blank spots through erased history.

hyper-reality and surreality, or the question and questioning of truth and how it can be performed, shared, presented, perceived.

The term "German Angst" is something that first came to my mind with Kelvyn Colts album. It tries to describe a stereotype that is said to be held in German culture, that includes couragelessness, an intense need for safety and security, hesitation, and anxiety about the future. For me, it is utterly linked with the absence of involvement in public spaces, e.g. looking away or ignoring when help is needed, not speaking up.

I am currently writing a paper on the Singing Revolution from 1987-1991, how peaceful protests can work, what importance cultural freedom has for society and why the oppression of cultural diversity is inherently fascist.  Here you can find an interesting documentary.

in a society that gets more and more aggressive, I find it hard to show courage in specific situations that my body determines as dangerous. A few days ago, some guy on the train started shouting sexist and violent slurs. Everyone around me, including me, was ignoring him, looking away or maybe shaking their heads, but no one confronted him. I thought about the situation and wished I had at least looked him in the face, hoping for some form of reflection on his side.

Lately, I've been focussing on how to get rid of feelings of resignation due to events (political, social, cultural) that you have no power over. In Germany, we can perceive a rise of the right extremists, plans on deportation have been made by influential far-right politicians, rich people and extremists. And there is no time to stay inactive. I want to use my voice, so going to demonstrations has helped. But which other steps can we go to heal our society? How can we win back the people that have not yet fallen down the spiral of right wing conspiracy theories? How can we talk to each other? Tyron Ricketts published a guide on how to talk to people with discriminating stances.

On politics and war, I want to cite Farida D.: " 'In this war, which side do you pick?' they ask. But what does it mean to pick a side in a stride taken by men? Men have picked oppression. Men have picked colonialism. Men have picked terrorism. Men have picked zionism. Men have picked islamophobia and antisemitism. Men have picked religion. Women on all sides are dying for the wars that men have picked to fight. Whose picking our fucking side?! In this war waged between men and men, I pick the side of women.

utterly relating to the issue below, here is the statement by Friede Merz about abuse of power in jazz academia.

Currently, I'm thinking a lot about how to take up space or build a home in an environment that might not be in the best condition to hold you. How to feel comfortable in a space that is not designed for or curated by you and how to make your boundaries and wishes vocal. And, most importantly, how to do that in a loving, but decisive way.

I made a playlist including my favorite climaxes in songs. enjoy!

Erratic by Limbo Bitch. This is my friend and band colleague from Lotuus and he released his first solo EP. I listen to it on repeat. Everyday. You should, too.  It will heal your everything and also caress your everything.

rudolf eb.er.
A sound artist based in Japan who formed a whole ass cult around his music practice. My mate Tim showed me some of his tracks and since then I cannot stop thinking about these haunting sounds.

this one album by Ethel Cain, especially the track Ptolemaea.

Stengers &Pignarres Capitalist Sorcery. An essay about science, the patriarchy and capitalism. It offers a new perspective on the definition of capitalism (that, which developed inside an already capitalist society) as well as science or "truth" and its role in capitalism.

Das Unbehagen
trying to find in sound what makes you feel uncomfortable, what steps over the line, what may seem ugly at first but then suggests your own reflection and a glimpse on what your expectations from music are. Trying to find what awakens certain reactions or associations. Of course it involves a lot of SCREAMING.
